one more love-note
my name tiptoed from your lips,
barely audible over the din of
clinking coffee cups and
bells on glass doors.
your lips curve upwards as our
eyes introduce each other
for the first time. you breathe
'hello'
and i inhale stars.
-
origami love-notes folded to mask
secret codes, collected in the pockets
of faded jeans. we close our eyes and
make out
make love
make believe
a future for us to share.
your hands are warm and mine are soverycold
and there's no need to speak.
you always hear me.
-
our story is a strange one
and i find myself tempted to flip
to the back of the book and see if it was
w o r t h i t .
but
Here I am...
I sit, watch, and listen.
I say nothing
As The voices raise,
I know I should pay attention
But as I think of what they say
All it's comes to...
Is you...
You are everything.
I smile at that small thought.
Everyone could cry and I smile.
Not for the liking of pain.
Not cause it's best in a bad time.
Because... It's you.
It's you...
My sunshine on a cloudy day.
My light in this darkness.
My knight in shining armor.
It's you...
I cry...
You wipe away my waterfall tears.
I'm angered...
You're there to hold me back.
I'm hurt...
You're there to help me up and to defend me.
All in all...
I was seventy parts cloud
All blown into fractions
around you as distractions
Hanging on to your sour mouth
Small dips in my hazle skin
Of odd fingertip dents
and smokes put out
still felt 11 years older
I hide old grass stains
covering crooked knees
of when we fell of trees
as lost bits of planes
We ripped birds off skies
tied them on our shoelaces
and ran till we floated
like kites caught in the wind
Lost in hair and leaves
lay my little first kiss
she was my nineteen ninety-nine
along the rough may winds
